Mandala Surfboards.......................

I really really covet Mandala surfboards.
I follow Many on Instagram and like every post, without fail.
If only I could afford one of his gorgeous creations.

Recently, I heard that my local surfshop, Adrenaline would be receiving a shipment from California. They are hard to find in Europe and seldom come up secondhand. I contacted Many and got a full list of the dream machines heading this way. They arrived last week via a circuitous route round the world.

Seven perfect pieces of art, four in the racks and three carefully hung on the wall. All there to tempt me with their perfect lines and perfect glassing. A 5' 10" single with a stunning high gloss burgundy tint keeps smiling at me and suggests it would be ideal for me. Sadly, at 1,180€, it must remain a dream. Both the price and the size are not ideal for me I think.

Maybe it would be cheaper to fly over to CA and buy a couple........................now there's an idea.

Spring has Sprung................at last!!!

Just got back from a week in the UK where it was still cold and damp, so no change there.
Returned to much better weather here in Finisterre, the cold, damp winter a thing of the past. Gorgeous sunshine and milder days have lifted both me and the garden, which needs a lot of attention, the strawberries are fighting with the weeds and I will make that a priority. The grass is cut and the terrace weeded so looking tidy already, even sat out for lunch, wow.

With the calmer weather the surf has dropped right off, looking small and weak for a few days to come.
Took advantage of a windless morning yesterday to get out on my SUP for the first time this year. Had a couple of hours along the coast and enjoyed a nice little workout on very flat water. The shoulders and back feel tight this morning but in a good way. I just love that sight of coming round the headland and seeing the beach and bay with our house nestled in there, very uplifting.

The New Me......................

Since posting back in October about an old 4/3 suit that was too tight I started the year determined to shed a few kg's.

Pleased to say I have gone from 13st 3lbs (83.5kg) down to 12st 3lbs (77.5kg) since the first of Feb.
This is down to cutting out chocolate, crisps, ice-cream and biccies completely and a reduced controlled diet where no protein is combined with carbs. No potatoes at all, which I haven't missed. Plenty of fruit. Sandwiches or soup for lunch and my usual breakfast of cereal, banana, strawberries, prunes, yoghurt and skimmed milk.
The extra energy I have has been a revelation. Very happy all round..

Roll on summer and thinner wetsuits.........................

Long time.......................

I have neglected my blog during the last few months. The winter has been awful, too wet, too cold and too long. Spring has finally arrived and the sun is warming up, about time. Been in the water a few times but found the 7S Cog too small with that extra rubber!!! Thinking of getting something in the 6' 6" range with a bit more volume to help cope with that problem. Watch this space..........

In the meantime I decided to pimp up the quad with some Poscas.
